In one paragraph
HI3D.cc is a web service by NorthBright Labs LLC that turns a photo, or a text description through concept images, into a 3D model. A full-colour model has 4K geometry and 2,048-pixel PBR texture maps; its shape preview takes 2–3 minutes and the 4K model 4–12 minutes. A 3D print mesh takes about 5 minutes and a game-ready model 2–3. Files: GLB, FBX, OBJ, USDZ, STL and 3MF. Pricing is per model: 100 credits for full colour, 40 for a print mesh, 60 for game-ready, with packs from $12 for 300 credits.
Key facts
- Inputs: one photo; 2–4 photos of the same object (Multi-view, Pro and Studio); or text, turned into four concept images first.
- Presets: full colour (4K geometry, about 40,000 triangles, PBR), 3D print (up to 300,000 triangles, no textures, repaired) and game-ready (up to 15,000 triangles, PBR).
- Textures: base colour, metallic, roughness and normal maps at 2,048 × 2,048 px. “4K” describes the geometry.
- Formats: GLB, FBX, OBJ (zipped with its material and maps), USDZ, STL and 3MF. No .blend file.
- Print sizing: STL and 3MF at any height from 10 to 2,000 mm; 100 mm by default.
- Rigging: a 24-bone humanoid skeleton with standard bone names, idle, walk and run animations. Loose cloth stretches when rigged characters move.
- Free start: 40 credits at sign-up, enough for one shape preview. Concept images are free, 10 sets a day.
- Privacy: uploaded photos are deleted after 30 days; models are private to your account unless you turn on a view-only share link (not indexed). You can delete any model, or your whole account, yourself at any time.
- License: commercial use for models made with purchased credits; personal use for models made only with the sign-up credits.
Measured generation times
Engine execution time for each paid test run, as reported per request by our inference provider. Queueing added 2–5 seconds to each; saving the files adds about 30 seconds. We'll replace these with medians from live runs once each preset has 20 of them.
| Step | Input | Seconds | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Concept images (text to 3D) | 2 images, 1,024 px | 7.9 | 2026-09-30 |

How we quote them on the site: shape preview 2–3 minutes; full-colour 4K model 4–12 minutes, usually about 5; print mesh about 5 minutes; game-ready 2–3 minutes; rigging about 2 minutes; concept images about 10 seconds.
Outputs and file sizes
| Preset | Triangles | Textures | All files |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shape preview | ~20,000 | none | 5–7 MB |
| Full colour | ~40,000 | 4 maps, 2,048 px | 49–55 MB |
| 3D print | up to 300,000 | none | 72 MB (OBJ 29, STL 15) |
| Game-ready | up to 15,000 | 4 maps, 2,048 px | 37–38 MB |
| Rigged set | as the model | restored PBR in GLB files | ~60 MB (10 files) |
The model you rotate in the browser is a compressed copy: our 12.7 MB full-colour portrait GLB becomes 1.27 MB with every triangle kept and textures at 1,024 px. Downloads are the full files.
Mesh quality and print repair
Open and non-manifold edges, measured by us and checked with trimesh. The print repair welds vertices, removes triangles on non-manifold edges and caps holes; it is kept only if it changes under 1% of the mesh. The corgi repair took 2.2 seconds.
| Model | Triangles | Open / non-manifold | After repair |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corgi, 3D print preset | 299,753 | 11 / 2 | 0 / 0, watertight (10 triangles removed) |
| Armchair, full colour, 25 parts | 40,102 | 47 / 24 | 0 / 0, watertight (73 triangles removed) |
| Portrait, full colour, 49 parts | 41,262 | 73 / 85 | unchanged: repair would remove 1.9% |
| Mech, game-ready | 14,735 | 997 / 0 | not for printing (open game topology) |
Consistency: preview versus final
| Input | Average surface difference | What it looked like |
|---|---|---|
| Full-body portrait (photo-style image) | 0.64% of height | The same model |
| Mech robot image | 2.35% | Same parts and proportions; one arm at a different angle |
| Text prompt, built directly | 9.29% | Two different chairs, which is why text now goes through concept images |

What HI3D.cc doesn't do (yet)
- No .blend downloads, 8K textures, quad retopology or multi-colour 3MF.
- No flat relief or extrusion from logos and SVGs: it builds whole objects.
- No public gallery: models are private, and nothing you make is shown to anyone else.
- No API or team seats yet.
- Glass, water, mirrors and groups of people haven't been validated.
About these numbers
Every figure on this page comes from paid test runs that we logged in full: the request, each status check, the returned files and our measurements of them. The input images were generated for testing; none shows a real person. Company: NorthBright Labs LLC. Contact: hello@hi3d.cc. More in about us.
